Brasília – Brazil
This 4 days intensive course is intended for orthodontists and oral maxillofacial surgeons. During these days, it will be explained in depth how three-dimensional craniofacial diagnostics allow for more assertive diagnoses and thus for designing the optimal treatment plan for each case. Special attention will be given to the ATM as the main axis of stability, as well as its influence on the development of facial asymmetries (condylar hyperplasia and degenerative processes). The step-by-step unconventional orthodontic preparation will be explained by using advanced mechanics with miniplates. With this, today it is possible to have full control of the occlusal plane in three dimensions, reducing the need for segmentation during surgery and premolar extractions during preparation. We will also address the management of extremely complex cases (relapse of orthosurgical treatment) from the perspective of advanced mechanics with miniplates and the achievement of health and proper condylar positioning. Finally, we will delve into virtual surgical planning and the new reality of orthognathic surgery in terms of minimally invasive techniques and faster recovery. As a final goal of all treatment, we will analyze the factors that influence the stability of orthosurgical treatments.
